Art has been a passion of mine as far back as I can remember. I majored in Art and Art Education at Indiana University. I taught art for twenty-three years in Oregon and loved sharing my passion for art with my high school students.
I was excited to be selected in 2007 to create an ornament for the White House Christmas tree by the Congresswoman from my district in Oregon. In 2013 I was honored by my art teacher colleagues as the Art Teacher of the Year for the State of Oregon.
Now retired from teaching in public school, I create my own art in a wide variety of media, including; oils, acrylics, graphite, pastels, glass, photography and clay. I’m always eager to incorporate new materials and methods to bring my ideas and perceptions about the world around me to life.
Nature is my biggest inspiration. My husband and our dog and I travel a lot and we enjoy experiencing diversely different landscapes. Even when using photography as my medium, I almost always change the image to suit my interpretation of what I’ve experienced.
We spend most of our time in the Southwest, the Pacific Northwest and on the Central California Coast.
